Cannot make it to the event? Want to send your tickets to a friend? Transferring tickets on Tickts is quick, secure, and free. The new ticket holder gets their own verified QR code, and your original ticket is automatically voided -- so there is no risk of duplicate entries. Here is how to do it.
Step-by-step transfer guide
- Log into your Tickts account -- Visit tickts.co.uk and sign in with the email address you used to purchase the tickets.
- Find your order -- Navigate to your tickets or orders section. Find the event you want to transfer tickets for.
- Select the ticket(s) to transfer -- You can transfer all tickets in an order or just individual ones. Select the ones you want to send to someone else.
- Enter the recipient's email address -- Type in the email address of the person you are transferring the tickets to. Double-check this is correct -- the tickets will be sent to this address.
- Confirm the transfer -- Review the details and confirm. The transfer happens immediately.
What happens next
Once you confirm the transfer:
- The recipient receives an email with their new ticket(s), including a fresh QR code unique to them.
- Your original QR code is automatically voided -- it will no longer work at the venue.
- The transfer is logged in both your account and the recipient's, so there is a clear record.
- If the recipient does not yet have a Tickts account, they can create one using the email address you sent the tickets to.
Can the recipient transfer the ticket again?
Yes, in most cases. The new ticket holder can transfer the ticket to someone else using the same process. Each transfer generates a new QR code and voids the previous one, maintaining the chain of custody.
Some event organisers may restrict the number of transfers allowed. If this is the case, it will be noted on the event page.
Can I undo a transfer?
Once a transfer is confirmed, you cannot undo it yourself. If you transferred to the wrong person, contact Tickts support and we will help resolve the situation. Acting quickly gives us the best chance of correcting the mistake before the recipient uses the ticket.
Transferring to someone without a smartphone
If the person you are transferring to does not have a smartphone, they can:
- Access their ticket by logging into the Tickts website on any device with a web browser.
- Print the QR code from the email (if the venue accepts printed QR codes -- most do).
- Contact us for alternative arrangements if needed.
Why transfers matter
The ability to transfer tickets easily is one of the things that sets fair ticketing apart from restrictive practices. Some platforms make transfers deliberately difficult to prevent resale -- but this also prevents legitimate use cases like giving tickets to friends, family, or colleagues.
At Tickts, we believe that once you have bought a ticket, you should be able to use it or give it to someone who can. Our transfer system is designed to be as frictionless as possible while maintaining security through unique, verified QR codes.
Transfers and event security
Every transfer on Tickts is tracked and logged. This means:
- Event organisers can see who holds each ticket at any given time.
- Venue security staff scanning tickets always see the current, valid QR code.
- If there is ever a dispute about ticket ownership, the transfer history provides a clear audit trail.
This is far more secure than the alternative of forwarding screenshots or emailing PDFs, where there is no way to know how many copies exist.
Summary
Transferring tickets on Tickts takes seconds. Log in, find your order, enter the recipient's email, and confirm. They get a fresh QR code, your old one is voided, and everyone can enjoy the event with confidence. It is free, secure, and designed to work the way ticketing should.
