This autumn we are partnering with Lyle's Golden Syrup, one of Britain's most iconic kitchen staples, to bring you a menu that weaves their signature golden syrup into the heart of Southeast Asian cooking. Not just in the sweet moments, but the savoury ones too. Think glazes, marinades, dipping sauces and finishes that are unexpected, delicious and very Jiran.

Join us for an evening of bold autumn flavours, warm Southeast Asian comfort and the kind of long table conversation that makes a Friday night feel exactly like it should. An evening with friends and strangers alike.

ABOUT LYLE’S GOLDEN SYRUP

Lyle’s Golden Syrup has been a British kitchen staple since 1881, when Abram Lyle first produced it at his sugar refinery on the Thames in East London. Its green and gold tin has barely changed since, and it is recognised by Guinness World Records as the world’s oldest unchanged brand packaging.

Nearly 150 years on, Lyle’s is still found in pantries around the world, loved for the warmth and depth it adds to everything from puddings and bakes to glazes and marinades. For this edition of Jiran, we’re bringing that familiar golden tin into Southeast Asian cooking, in both the sweet dishes and the savoury ones.

ABOUT JIRAN

Jiran is a Southeast Asian supper club exploring the region's rich culinary landscape through modern, thoughtful menus. Founded by Lip and Zoey, Malaysians of Thai and Chinese heritage respectively, Jiran brings together Southeast Asian flavours, storytelling, and warm hospitality.

The name 'Jiran', meaning 'neighbour' in Malay, reflects a focus on connection and cultural exchange. Each event celebrates diverse Southeast Asian traditions through comforting, shareable dishes. At its heart, this London dining experience is about cooking, hosting, and building community through food.

THE MENU

Every dish on the menu features Lyle's Golden Syrup in some form, from savoury to sweet. Please include any allergies or dietary needs at the time of booking so we can accommodate you thoughtfully. The menu will be published ahead of the event on our Instagram @hey.jiran.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Doors open at 7pm, the evening begins at 7:30pm sharp and we will wrap up by 10:00pm. We kindly ask guests to arrive on time so we can begin together and make the most of our time at the table!

There will be photography and videography throughout the evening for Jiran and Lyle’s Golden Syrup. All guests will be asked to sign a consent form on arrival. If you would prefer not to be filmed, just let us know when you arrive and we will make sure you are kept out of shot.

PSA: BRING A TAKEAWAY BOX!

Arrive with an open heart and an empty stomach. Takeaway boxes are encouraged so you can take any leftover food home. We don't want to waste any food and would rather you enjoy it the next day.
