About this event

11am - 1.00pm

Art meets Science!

BRING YOUR OWN PHONE OR DIGITAL CAMERA.

A basic digital photography course using a smartphone is usually much more about learning how to see, compose, capture, and edit good photographs than learning complicated camera settings.

What you might learn

  • How to get the most from the phone you already have and to develop your photographic eye.

  • Composition

  • Each child receives at least 1 printed photograph to take home.

The first 30 minutes will be spent inside getting to know each other and learning about our cameras

Then we go outside to take some photographs

The weather is predicted to be dry for the duration of our session tomorrow, so for free play and socializing we will be outside in the nearby park. We'll bring a football in case children would like to play football too.

* Our HOME ED COMMUNITY Group sessions cater to different ages, to allow children and their siblings to attend. For our general sessions there will be zones where children of similar ages will be paired up, with activity levels to suit them and their ages. So we ask everyone to book in advance and provide ages of children, so that we can prepare the space and differentiation in advance.*

*Our group founder and teacher is a home educating parent who is qualified to teach adults and (parent and child) family groups and has a wealth of experience delivering workshops and courses, to children and adults. Spanning close to 20 years. We also have a SEN lead who works with us and also in schools. We are DBS Certified.*

* Regular attendees are able to suggest themes of interest for our sessions. For instance we did a whole session about foxes and wolves.*
