About this event
Cocada da Pazsarinha is a cultural gathering that celebrates coco de roda as a living practice of Northeastern Brazilian culture. The show opens with a performance by the artist and unfolds into a sharing of knowledge, inviting the audience to learn, experience, and join a coco circle.
More than a show, this is a collective ritual, where music, dance, and presence build a space of connection and belonging. Throughout the experience, Pazsarinha moves across Northeastern, Latin American, and international territories, weaving together memories, sounds, and bodies in motion.
The closing circle honors the master practitioners (mestres and mestras), affirming the continuity of popular traditions and the strength of Afro-Amerindian heritage. Amid percussive rhythm, sweat, and enchantment, the audience is invited to reconnect with the power of living culture and shared identity.
In London, Cocada da Pazsarinha arrives for its third edition in the city, after sold-out previous editions. Once again, we'll take over The Moby Dick, a lovely venue with excellent sound. This edition brings an even stronger lineup: Lili May on bombo, and Joy Dilá on ganzá and vocals. Also DJ Live set with Pindorama Sound System!
