About this event
In this out-of-this-world experience, we’re taking you on a virtual journey from our solar system out to distant exoplanets, and all the way home to Planet Earth!
Through hands-on exhibits, VR experiences, and creative activities, we’ll explore how local scientists learn about the climates of distant planets, and the extreme worlds they’ve discovered so far. Brace yourself for rains of glass, lava landscapes, and giant dust storms: living on Earth is like a walk in the park compared to life on these exoplanets!
Together, we’ll explore the science of climate modelling and imagine ‘Our Positive Future’.
What to Expect:
Interactive & hands-on: Explore local astrophysics research and climate models through accessible, interactive activities designed for all ages.
Friendly facilitators: Our team and volunteer mediators are on hand to chat.
Self-guided experience: Explore at your own pace!
Visiting Information:
Location: Unit 9, Green Lanes Shopping Centre, Barnstaple.
Duration: Plan for your visit to last at least 45 minutes (though many visitors stay much longer)!
Accessibility: Step-free access with accessible toilets and Changing Places facilities within Green Lanes Shopping Centre.
Refreshments: You are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks (please help keep our space tidy by taking any rubbish home).

Please arrive on-time for your booked slot. Late arrivals may have to wait for the next available capacity. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Refund policy
Plans changed? As a small charity with limited capacity, we rely on every space being filled. If you need to change your time slot, please book your new session directly and reply to your booking confirmation email so we can cancel your original slot and offer it to someone on our waiting list. Please note that ticket contributions and donations are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances.
